Flu Season is Coming

I have 3 pairs of gloves under the seat of my Vespa, normal thin woolen for mild cool mornings, thick heat holders for those very cold mornings, and some real padded biker gloves for those cold wet days. The weather changed dramatically overnight and we woke up to a rather chilly morning, so cold that I had to put on my Heat Holders.

I am keeping an weary eye on what is happening in the northern hemisphere with the SARS-CoV-2 outbreak. We are about to enter our flu season in a few months and if this Chinese bug would hit our shores I am not too confident that our medical institutions would be able to cope. Yes we are in a much better situation than our northern neighbours such as Zimbabwe. Okay enough of this fear mongering, lets all get our immune systems ready. Live long and prosper!

Bosasa African Global

It has been a year now; I think it is best to get rid of all my old Bosasa clothes which are just lying in my cupboard getting dust and cat hair. It was a traumatic end to the season of Bosasa or as they now call themselves African Global but God has put me onto a new course in my life.

African Global, is it only me who sees the irony of this oxymoron, African yet Global in the same breath. Well anyways, I had to do something with this pile of unwanted clothing that is branded Bosasa and what better way than to give it away to those who need it the most, especially over Christmas since they are not called Bosasa anymore. Double irony, I think the clothes should go to those who are looked after by Bosasa at the infamous Lindela Repatriation Centre.

2018 is going to be a new leaf, exciting times ahead. So out with the old and in with the new.

Not too Shabby

Not too shabby, Nigel, if I must say so myself. This morning I had to go to a job interview and thank goodness I had a suit that fitted.

About a month ago I went to a friend’s funeral, and tragically I found that my suit jacket did not fit anymore. The wiser you get, the more encompassing you get. Thank goodness round is a shape. That very next week I went out and searched high and low for a suit that would fit me.

And now this...

The day I finally get to wear the new suit, I feel like I am the emperor wearing his new clothes, not too shabby. Now you just have to imagine me wearing my new threads while zipping through downtown traffic on my red Vespa.
