It's time

The road trip is upon us. Having informed work that I am away for a couple of days they still waited until the last minute to give me work. This stressed me out to no end. I had no time today to think of what photo to take so I took of whoever was in the office at the time. The unlucky person was Motloli, head down working the keyboard as usual. Please excuse the next few days until Monday as I won't be able to post regularly as I am on a road trip. I am leaving Johannesburg at about 5am tomorrow and head to Phalaborwa passing Pretoria, Warmbaths, Pietersburg and Tzaneen. On Friday I'm heading down to Sabie via Hoedspruit. Saturday will be a short hop to Hazyview and Sunday the long trek back. All this on a ET4 Vespa.

Irritating Buzz

No I am not talking about Google Buzz that was launched last Wednesday but by the alarm that was endlessly buzzing outside the server room ALL DAY. My left ear was aching so much that I still hear the sound three hours after I left the office. Here are Refiloe, Helen and Motloli in an animated discussion, what about I could not hear as my ears were ringing.

Motloli

Motloli, one of the ICT Managers has asked us to stall on our decision until tomorrow to allow Metrorail time to get their offer finalised. Well tomorrow is the last day. We should know by mid morning which way we will be going.

Year End Fast Track

The year is coming to an end very fast. Most of my colleagues are starting to talk about the holidays. Sorry for me but I am working right through this Christmas. Bah Humbug. Anyway talking about work here is a rare photo of Motloli discussing some work related issue with Patrick.

Rain Rain

Ahh, the rain continues to fall not just softly but in buckets. The ground is now water logged. The rain means that the temperatures have dropped to a more comfortable level but what worries me is cholera as reports of the disease is starting to surface here in Johannesburg. Okay lets be more positive. Today’s photo is of Patrick and Motloli from the ICT department of Metrorail.

Not everyone is in the photo but here is half of the department in one photo. Round the table from the left is Refiloe, Daleen, José, Kevin (behind the hands), Ayanda (standing), Motloli, Masilo,Ellen and Thembinkosi. Behind them against the back glass are Mokgosi and Theophylus.

Heaven or Hell

I suppose you get what you asked for and I did my rain dance 5 days ago. This afternoon the heavens opened up and some people on the radio described it akin to hell. Lightning crashed down and hit overhead power cables in City Deep. Explosions occurred along the line and some of the cables fell onto the roads. I just managed to get out of town in time so I missed the fun. Lights where out for CBD, central Johannesburg and in the south. Luckily I live in the northern suburbs so we weren’t affected. The reports I heard on the radio was that the traffic out of the CBD was hell. Well here is Motloli, one of the ICT managers. I bet he was stuck in the rush out of Metrorail unless he left early.
