Death Note Birthday

Since Matthew’s birthday falls in his final exams we decided to move his birthday combined with his final year function with friends this weekend. By busy I mean 12 teenagers descended onto our quiet home for a sleepover party and some sleepover party it turned out to be.

Two arrived yesterday and the rest of the teenagers arrived just after noon. Soon the party was in full swing with pizza slices going round as the guest settled in and started playing Xbox and Playstation. With Matthew playing host, we had to slip out and buy the rolls and salad ingredients.

At 4pm I started the braai while the kids went for a hike down into the kloof. When they came back the food was ready, thank goodness as they were exhausted and hungry. After dinner it was pool time. Now how come I remember someone saying you should not swim on a full stomach? Well that someone forgot to tell Matthew and friends.

It looks like this party is never going to end as Matthew cuts his Death Note birthday cake and they all get their second wind. With the music doff doffing in the background Lynda and I call it a day while the party will continue till tomorrow morning.

Frisbee Moses

It is near the end of an endless gaming weekend for Matthew and his friend Moses. But that is not all! Now being a Sunday afternoon means it is the Flying Disc League time so here is Matthew introduction Moses to the nonstop action of throwing and catching a frisbee.

Double M&M spells trouble as Matthew had his friend Moses over for the weekend of nonstop gaming. Yes when I woke up this morning both of them was still playing on the X-Box and are planning to continue through to Sunday. This photo was taken when they were still looking not like zombies yet.

Jade and Maxy want to part of the Neighbours Club

僕は友達が少ない, Boku wa tomodachi ga sukunai or literally translated from Japanese I don’t have many friends. Haganai is one of the main characters of a series of short novels called Haganai which was written by Yomi Hirasaka and is about a young teenager called Kodaka Hasegawa. The stories have also been adapted as a full feature anime film and series, and it is these animes that have caught the attention of Matthew.

Kodaka, is transferred to a new school and found it difficult to make friends due to his mix of brown-blonde hair. He finally makes friends with solitary young lady, called Yozora Mikazuki. Both of them form an after school club called the Neighbours Club, for people like themselves with no friends.

It seems that Kodaka has become Matthew’s role model and he cosplayed as Kodaka for rAge today where he won a prize for cosplayer that is dressed closest to character. Wow, to me he was dressed just as a normal teenager but I am sure the girls would think that his hair style is cool, well certainly Deadpool and Jon Snow thinks so. Yes Jon Snow is still alive and well as seen today at rAge.

Moses Group Technologies

After work I had to stop at Nedbank's Group Technologies in Sandton and as I climbed off my Vespa, imagine my surprise when my good friend Moses arrived after me and steps off his MotoMia. Now how did I forget that Moses works here. It has been a long time.

Moses New Ride

Passover is over and my friend Moses has gotten himself a new ride, a MotoMia Java 170 Sport. Moses became my second visitor to my new cottage when he arrived on his new scooter for a visit late this afternoon. With only 144km on the clock, Moses has already had his bikers first fall out of the way so now all we need is a ride out to Hartes.

Last Day

It is the last day of the summer holidays for me and it is back to work tomorrow. BBC was full today with everyone back from their holidays. Here is Moses, Shangirai, Nyasha and Tariro who are back from Zimbabwe.

Free Falling

I don't have much to say today other than I am free falling out of control and it seems too late to pull the ripcord. Anyway here is Nyasha, Shangirai (her brother) and Moses (her husband) at BBC this morning. If you think my problems are big, think again, Moses had a brain tumour which was miraculously healed some time ago but now has reappeared. We need to hold him up in our prayers. About me, well I am still free falling, out of control and can't pull the ripcord by myself. Someday we'll look back on all this and plow into a parked car.
