Bioscrub

Here at Websense we are gearing up the hygiene of our offices with Graham scoring the interwebs for Sanitizing products. Wash your hands is first port of call with this Bioscrub. I am following it up with the manufacturing of washable and reusable face masks.

Graham disappear during the day and after a while arrived back in the offices with quite a few indoor plants in tow. After rearranging out offices, he then took some photos to show Tanya how nice and green our office now looks.

And the Winner Is

Last month a challenge was put out in the office as to who can cook the best Biryani. Taleesha who is of Indian descent and Graham a fairly good amateur cook, took up the gourmet challenge with gusto. And today with 4 judges including me, yum yum, did the taste test.

I am not sure how the others judged but here is my score sheet.
  • Presentation: Went to Taleesha as hers was a more traditional looking Biryani of Durban and Southern Indian whereas Graham's looked Northern India with its layers although it looked a little on the bulimic side.
  • Aroma: Hands down to Graham
  • Texture: To Graham again as he use yogurt and it was nice and moist compared to Taleesha's
  • Taste: It was close with Taleesha being more authentic and Graham's leaning more to a Thai taste.
With the other judges scores in, the winner went to ...

Graham. Well done.

Overkill

While changing a lock on a display unit Graham and his son Matthew didn't have the right tools so a wheel spanner fitted the barrel lock perfectly. Take about overkill but the job was done and the weekend started in ernest.

Salsa

Okay this is my forth and final year end function of the year, the combined Websense and Cellcor lunch at Salsa, a Mexican restaurant. From left to right, Graham, Josh, Trish, Sam, Taleesha, Enia, and Scott.

I am not a big chilli lover hence Mexican has never been high on my list but I must say that I really enjoyed the food served by Salsa and had a great time. It is hot outside and I can now do with a siesta about now.

Breaking the Diet

The eCommerce site that I developed went live yesterday without any serious hiccups (check out Applix). The Graham did the transfer and he was so chuffed that it all just fell into place, so much so that Taleesha said that this means pizza tomorrow, hence Graham bought us pizza and at the same time broke his diet of healthy foods.

I'm too on a diet, a Light Diet, yip you read correctly and it is not as in eating lite foods as you might think. It is that I can only eat by Day Light, Moon Light, and  Refrigerator Light.

Birthday Boy

Yesterday it was Graham’s birthday but I was so busy trying to finish up a lawyers website that I didn’t get to take a photo of Graham for my blog. Thankfully Lucky the cat came to the rescue for the photo nor did I get the opportunity to sing not that I am a soprano. Today another opportunity arrived for a birthday photo as a cake arrived from Graham’s daughter, ooooh this time I had more time and more cake. Happy birthday Graham.

Graham's Apple

I must have yawned throughout the day, not tired just that it wasn't quite a restful weekend and I overslept this morning. After hearing the 5am and 5:30am alarms, I must have fallen back to sleep as I was woken up at 6:30 with a cup of coffee and the question, "don't you leave for work at 6:45am?" Oh boy!

Anyways I got through the day alright I think expect for a few yawns. Towards the end of the day, Graham asked if it was my apple under my desk. No I didn't bring an apple to work, I looked and sure enough there was this tiniest apple under my desk. I picked it up and handed it to Graham, well it wasn't his either, must be Taleesha's.

But why such a small apple? well Graham speculated that it could be that it was made to fit into lunch boxes. Genius idea, lunch box apples. Just the perfect size to eat as this apple was screaming for me to eat it.

Brother-in-law and Nephew

This morning Graham and William, my brother in law and nephew, arrived in South Africa from the Netherlands for a holiday. It has been quite a long time since we have met and a lot has happened since then. Since they are staying in Irene, we caught up on the Deck at Irene Farm. They will be here for a few days before flying down to Cape Town. Even though we spent only a short time together, it was nice doing the catching up. Although a lot of water has past under the bridge, it feels like a little of the baggage that I have been carrying, lifted off.

It is an integrated system for controlling multiple communications into one graphical interface. Here are Graham and David from Siemens working at the Metrorail's ICT offices in Wits. Just before I go, my blog is getting large number of hits due to my post on Saturday, Gautrain after Eight, got reposted on the Gautrain history website.

Boaz

Today was the last of the series of Ruth at BBC. Ross concluded with the differences of Religion and Redemption. His very last point was to find joy in all circumstances. This is not easy. How is the question which keeps playing in my mind? Well I have a long way to go to understand this fully. Anyway here is Graham and Bruce having a discussion afterwards.

De Grote Kerk

Visiting the local Market at Dordrecht started with us catching the Waterbus across the Beneden Merwede River from Papendrecht. We then walked along the Wijnhaven looking at the beautiful boats moored in the canal and small shops in Voorstraat. Soon we reached the Grote Kerk, which the building of started 600 years ago. It has the largest carillon in Europe and took us 275 steps to climb to the top of the tower which housed the carillon. Here we took quite a few photographs of Dordrecht and surrounding areas. We then walked down the Nieuwe Haven and through Scheffersplein and found a quaint pofferties and pannekoeker restaurant in an alleyway where we had lunch. We finally reached our destination, the market in Statenplein. While we here I need to post a photo of our kind hosts Irene, Graham and their family. Here is Carol (hu hum notice her wheels), Matthew, Heather, Mom, Irene and Graham outside the Grote Kerk in Dordrecht.
