Empty Desk Syndrome

 

No wonder it poured yesterday, Taleesha resigned and is no more in the office. I am not sure what happened but when I arrived at work sopping wet from my ride in the torrential downpour, I found a very upset looking Snowflake. And next thing she had packed up her stuff and left.

Oh dear, now I have this empty desk syndrome today.

Snowflake's Birthday

 

It is Taleesha's birthday today, just as she reminded us on Friday so we won't forget. Flowers and chocolates arrived for the birthday snowflake and the one that I like the most are these orchids. She has now asked me twice already, how does one look after orchids.

Old Age Pills

 

Really Taleesha, do I need these old age pills? I mean I don't suffer from Arthritis, Hearing loss, Wrinkles, Fading eyesight, or Memory loss? I might be older and wiser but I am not suffering from these.

Tricksy little Hobbitses

 

Taleesha has been trying to get me take a photo of her engagement ring for some time now and so far I have avoided falling for her sneaky little traps, that is until today. "Look at my beautiful nails, why don't you take a photo of them for your blog?" Oh that tricksy little hobbitses. Do you see what she had done there? "It isn't fair", I cried, "my precious, is it, to ask us what it's got in it's nasty little fingersess?"

So I can so I can

Snowflakes, snowflakes everywhere! No it aren't winter yet, we just about to go into summer. Monday morning, having to deal with snowflakes, I also had Taleesha wearing sunglasses. How does that song goes, oh yes, "I wear my sunglasses at night, so I can so I can". So I can so I can sounds so snowflaky to me. No that was an 80s song, no snowflakes about that.

Cinnabon Bon

 

I'm not sure what the occanion is but Taleesha brought in some Cinnabon chocolate covered cinnamon buns, yummy. There goes my diet out of the window.

Better Hair Day

Compared with Taleesha's Bad Hair Day last Friday, Monday has been a better hair day for Taleesha, although she is suffering from the Winter chills. I still don't get bad or good hair days as it is so superficial. Oh maybe it is because I don't have hair on top of my crust. Bad Beard Day then?

Bad Hair Day

Well at least I don't have a bad hair day as Taleesha, shown here, is having this Friday, unless my untidy beard counts as unruly hair. Anyways enjoy your weekend.

Cinderleesha

We have rearranged our office and Taleesha decided to become Cinderella for the day and do a through spring cleaning. Armed with a mop, Cinderleesha began her cleanup and BOOM our office was clean again.

And the Winner Is

Last month a challenge was put out in the office as to who can cook the best Biryani. Taleesha who is of Indian descent and Graham a fairly good amateur cook, took up the gourmet challenge with gusto. And today with 4 judges including me, yum yum, did the taste test.

I am not sure how the others judged but here is my score sheet.

• Presentation: Went to Taleesha as hers was a more traditional looking Biryani of Durban and Southern Indian whereas Graham's looked Northern India with its layers although it looked a little on the bulimic side.
• Aroma: Hands down to Graham
• Texture: To Graham again as he use yogurt and it was nice and moist compared to Taleesha's
• Taste: It was close with Taleesha being more authentic and Graham's leaning more to a Thai taste.

With the other judges scores in, the winner went to ...

Graham. Well done.

Taleesha's Cake

"It was my birthday and I baked my own cake, not for everyone, just a slice for myself." The chocolate cake in a yellow lunch box does look good but thankfully I am watching my waistline and it did not temped me, not one iota.  

Belated Taleesha

It was Taleesha's birthday on Friday past. In the week running up to her birthday, she reminded everyone yet I believe she did not bring any cake on the day. I wasn't there on the day so I can't be that sure. Anyways over half a week later, Graham's mom reminded him of Taleesha's birthday that had past, and he came back to the office baring belated cupcakes. Uhmmm they were so nice and fresh that my cupcake went down well.

Happy belated birthday Taleesha, and I see that the cupcakes made from red velvet so happy early Single Awaresness Day for tomorrow.

Salsa

Okay this is my forth and final year end function of the year, the combined Websense and Cellcor lunch at Salsa, a Mexican restaurant. From left to right, Graham, Josh, Trish, Sam, Taleesha, Enia, and Scott.

I am not a big chilli lover hence Mexican has never been high on my list but I must say that I really enjoyed the food served by Salsa and had a great time. It is hot outside and I can now do with a siesta about now. 

Taleesha's Glasses

"Oh my Taleesha, what big glasses you have"? "All the better to see you with" answered the wolf. Taleesha must have new glasses as she wanted to show me them on her face. Okay, I have seen them now let's get back to work.
