Cats in the meeting

Working from home has its advantages and disadvantages, having cats sit in on a meeting is not okay if the client is allergic to cats and Minky or paddy wants to jump onto their laps, such as the other day with Velile who cats love but his eyes swell up.

Anyway today's visiting client, Edmund, is fond of cats especially those who don’t claw you to death. Edmund came round to discuss Digital Marketing for his family’s business and who else can he go to but the Digital Marketing Specialist himself, mah.

Walking on Water

Thirty Nine, 39, yes tomorrow Craig will be ever creeping closer to the big FOUR ZERO. Since he will be heading back to Kenya tomorrow, Necia decided to have a pancake afternoon around the pool.

So friends and family squeezed their vehicles into Craig and Necia’s driveway and had a whale of a time around the pool. Of course I managed to get some converts to the savoury mince and condense milk wrapped in pancakes. Yummy!

Craig even tried his hand at walking on water and of course the judges thought very little of his feeble attempt.

The judges score is final...
Anika – Disqualified;
Nicole – Disqualified;
Brendon – Disqualified;
Gary – 0;
and for the Invisible man (dressed wearing only shoes and nothing else), well he gave a full 10 points.

Cyber Curries

Craig and Edmund introduced me to Selvan and his Cyber Curries this evening. They have been bragging that Cyber Curries makes the best Durban style curries in Johannesburg. So I had to go try because this southern Indian style of curries that have made Durban curries famous, is hard to find in Johannesburg even in Fordsburg. Craig states that Durban style of curries is one of the simplest forms of curries yet one of the tastiest plus they are reasonably priced.

Cyber Curries has been located in the Buzz Shopping Centre for over ten years and they are specialists in the Durban style of Indian cuisine, from samoosas, bunny chows, breyanis and not to forget curries. They are quite small and are situated on the McD side of the Buzz Centre in Fourways, opposite the Douglasdale Police Station, and all. The best way to judge how good a restaurant is; is if the locals eat there. While sitting outside enjoying my beef curry, a number of Indian customers came in and bought take away curries, so it looks like we made the right choice.

Waterleak

I started on Edmund's website today. Edmund and his dad own the Waterleak Prevention Services company and before the rainy season starts they decided to allow me to do my magic for them. Another bit of good news is that I have been appointed Technical Manager of National Positions South Africa from October. :-)

The Office

Edmund came round to my office today to discuss potential business ideas. It is not quite spring yet but summer is definitely on its way. I must say that this Monday is way better than last weeks. So Edmund and I sat in my office (shown above) working through ideas and enjoy the peace of the countryside office.

The Posers

Today Edmund decided that he needed a shave, so here he is getting a shave at the Mediterranean Barber who is from Algeria. It was a perfect opportunity to take something different and be different.

This evening a group of Vespa lovers got together over dinner at the Casa da Galinha. The dinner conversation started about the past Sani Pass Vespa Adventure then later moved to the new social Vespa group that we've fallen into. We needed a name like the other two Vespa clubs in Joburg, the Vesparados and the Black Aces. As our first official meeting we have so far come up with the name "Posers SC". Interesting.

Two More Sleeps

With two more sleeps to go until the Great Sani Vespa Adventure, the nervousness has dissipated and excitement is starting to seep in. Let's hope I can get some sleep tonight. This evening I went to Magda and Martin's place to pick up bulky gear that needs to be taken by the support vehicles. They also gave me two Copenhagen chairs for my new cottage. I may have to re-arrange the couch to make them fit into my small lounge. Afterwards I met with Edmund for a quick bite to eat and a chat. Edmund loves fast cars, well anything fast that is, as you can see by him proudly wearing a Ferrari shirt. I am getting old so I will stick to my Vespa, thank you.
