Educating Dr Ted

At first I thought of naming this post Visitor 17 and 18 because Ted aka Dr Ted from his blog Dr Ted's Divorce Adventure and Sandor came visiting this evening thereby becoming my 17th and 18th visitors to my cozy cottage in Treesbank. Ted is in the market for an entry level DSR camera and he is not sure which way to go. So this evening Sandor, who swears by Nikon and me, the Canon man, was giving Ted the opportunity to play with the different cameras. Ted has already done his research on the specs but to have the different cameras in his hand, getting the feel of the two different camera makes was just what the doctor ordered for Dr Ted. Here is to Ted's decision of camera, no matter what it is.

Dr Ted

Well it was about time that Ted and I got together for a drink after work. Ted came to one of our photowalks six months ago and we've been chatting on and off over the internet and became friends. He has this blog Dr Ted's Divorce Adventure where he blogs about the pain and joys that he has encountered on his journey to recovery. What I have learnt is that you have to be honest and real with your emotions and feelings even though cowboys don’t cry, life hurts! I have turned to God demanding why and not always getting the answers that I wanted to hear. Having someone who has been through it all just stand by you, listen to your pain and not condemn means so much. I must say that I have been blessed by having so many good friends around me. So with that in mind I add Dr Ted to my good friends list. Now tell me whoever gets to drink a pint and eat burgers with his doctor?

Smile :-|

I need something to shed some light on my doldrums. I can't stay like this for long. It is not good for me. The day started off good with a meeting of the boys. Then it was back to a downer with Carol and I. Not to keep a good man down, the mood bounced back when we went to check out this second hand Vespa. The men in the today’s photo are from left to right Tom, Leon, Frans, Keith (hidden), Jerry, Ted (Father Ted to me) and Nigel.

The Gift of Friends

It is good to have true friends who stand by you when the rest run away. Some of my very good friends meet every Saturday and it was good to start the day with them. From left to right are Dave, Frank, Ted and Keith.

Last meeting

Today is the men’s last meeting for this year. Here is Keith, Ted and Gary sharing a joke before we get started. Next week we will have a breakfast somewhere. I later took Maxy to the park for his weekly run and finished the day off slouched on the couch watching the Springboks kick England’s butt by a record margin.

Father Ted

Spring is in the air with the expected last cold front on its way. I started the day admiring all the flowers on my way to the Men’s Ministry. Here is Ted from the men’s group with John in the background. Afterwards we dropped Matthew off at the Youth Mountaineering Club of South Africa practice climb and went off to the bank and Post Office. Later on in the day we watched the Springboks kick some Aussie butt and took Maxy to dog training.

It is Keith’s 50th birthday this Tuesday and we celebrated with muffins at men’s group. Here is Keith (right) sitting with Gary and ? while Ted and Glen are busy making coffee at the back.
