Malcolm Dog Mob

Well at my home, if my family senses that you are a dog person then you get the most awesome welcome ever. Malcolm came round this evening with a bottle of Rust en Vrede Shiraz and I had some lekker chicken curry on the go to keep the winter chill at bay. But my three Italian greyhounds and one Whippet decided that the best form of greeting is a dog mob with tons of kisses for good measure. So pile in everybody, Dog Mob! Somewhere in that jumble is Malcolm with Maxi, Jade, Patch and Skye.

Welcome to our pad, Malcolm. Hope you come back after all the love we showered on you.

Malcolm

I was not 100% sure that I should go to the Photo and Film Expo today, firstly because of my sore foot and secondly Canon wasn't going to be there. But by 11 'o clock, I said to Matthew what the heck, lets go. So off we trudged to the Northgate Dome. Even though it seems to be a Nikon show I enjoyed myself. There seem to be less smaller stores selling camera tech which wasn't good but it was less crowded which made it very pleasant. Saw the usual Joburg Photowalkers there with their usual whole event tickets and going every day and Robyn bought herself a Canon 7D. I will wait till December for the big Canon show. Oh and guess who we bumped into, yes Malcolm, my brother-in-law all the way from Cape Town. Malcolm was just stopping by on his way to Zimbabwe but it was good to see him.

Platteklip

Been there, done that can be said about climbing Table Mountain. Matthew and I were on Tafelberg Road at 6am this morning ready to go. There was cloud on the mountain and we were hoping that by mid morning the sun would have evaporated the cloud but alas that was not to be. We took two hours to scramble up Platteklip Gorge. The quickest route up but it was straight up. After 500m I was gasping for breath as I am quite unfit but by 1km I had my second breath and it was a breeze up the rest. By 8am we were at the top but visibility in the clouds was only about 3m so it was not much of a view. We hoped that it would clear but by 10am we heard reports that it was overcast down in the city bowl so we trudged down again. We ended up on the Waterfront drinking hot chocolate. By afternoon it was raining in Cape Town so we headed back to Fish Hoek for some feet up relaxation which we deserved. We went to Joy and Malcolm’s place at Noordhoek for pizza and beer this evening. The cousins from Edenvale who are also holidaying at Fish Hoek joined us. I could not get a decent photo from top of Table Mountain for today due to the poor weather so you will have to do with one of the family. From left to right are Kimberly, Natasha, Craig, Jenny, Malcolm and Henry.

Malcolm flies up

It is Friday at last. It has been a long week. Malcolm came up from Cape Town on his way to Malawi. He popped in to visit mom but I think Maxy was happier to see him than mom. Here is Malcolm on the phone to Joy while mom is trying not to look too excited with Malcolm being here. Later we took Malcolm to a lovely restaurant in the Design Quarter for supper. A good start for the weekend.
