Connect Family

Here I tried to use my phone's camera without the flash to get the ambiance of this evenings Connect family meeting. I am so tired this evening with all the late evenings nearly every night that I was not quite myself, quiet and subdued I was which made for a great Connect evening with family.

Breaking Bread

Last night many moons ago, Jesus and his disciples met in a small room for the seder meal, and this morning our Connect group met to break bread and have a meal in remembrance of what this day is all about, the day that Jesus gave up his life for me and you.

All the Ladies

All the ladies in the house lets PARTY!!!

Okay lets backtrack a bit. Last Saturday, Robynne was due to have her second daughter but baby was on her own time. This morning Robynne's waters broke and she went through to the birthing clinic. It was here that they noticed that she was only 1cm dilated and baby seemed to be stressed. So she was rushed to have an emergency caesarean.

This afternoon we are proud to announce the birth of baby Dakotah into the world. So now Lynda has to spend the night at Robynne and Marko's house and babysit Rebekah. So that gives me time to do anything I want.

Yay, so ladies, I decided to go to Connect group. With Lance chaperoning, Monique, Kerry, and Jesse joined us for some deep decisions of what was preached on Sunday about Moses before the burning bush and when God asked Moses what was in his hand. So when Lynda's away, this is how I party, by catching up with my Connect family.

Oh and both mother and baby are all fine.

Cooking up a Storm

Our Connect Group is cooking up a storm by making some Cottage Pies and Chicken Pies for future frozen pre cooked meals for those that need them. I am not sure what this ministry is called but we took up the call and got stuck into some cooking. Along with Shaun, Lynda and I; Taryn, Nicolene, Jesse, and Monique who are shown above got stuck into preparations. While Kyle, Lance joined Angie and Kerry wo/manned the kitchen.

The Duff Intervention

We have been going to the Centre Church for some time now and we got our first dinner invite. It was a normal winter's evening and when we arrived Lance had just taken the burgers off the grill. Perfect timing. Vida and Jesse, Lance and Kerry's 2 little ones were warmly wrapped up ready for bed but they were excited as they were going to sit at the big people's table for some yummy burgers.

When we first got the nod from the Duffs, I wondered if it was an intervention but noooo it was an awesome evening with some kwel friends.

Jesse

Lately my second favourite day is Tuesdays after Sundays of course. My least are Mondays no need to go there, and well Fridays used to be my favourite, working from home has wipe that thank goodness its Friday down to a status of Thursdays. Hump Day or Wednesday is okay along with Saturdays but it is Tuesday evenings when we get together for Connect group that makes Tuesday important to me.

Meeting on a Tuesday evening when we all tired from the start of another week, just to connect with each other and discuss Sunday's sermon, pull it apart and of course crit Jon's conversion to vegetarianism which I must say made me block out the rest of his Sunday's sermon. I mean the horror of finding out that the pastor is a no more meat, no more braai person just threw me from the left field that I didn't heard another word out of his mouth. Luckily my Connect group put me straight by saying that Jon finished his vegetarian sentence with only joking as his idea of a good meal is simply a large steak. Shoj, I was contemplating finding another flock where the sheep have teeth. Jon if you are reading this, I am sorry bru, but you can come round for some pork ribs, anytime (just to check that you were joking).

Anyways, since I am stuck in my home office most of the time, I am finding it difficult to get fresh ideas for photos so getting out on a Tuesday evening helps. Here is one of Jesse, a vegetarian of course, delicately eating a mini brownie and below an filter of me getting busted.
