Princess In a Basket

You have heard of cat in a hat, but what about cat in a basket? This area is now designated as Princess's sleeping area. It used to be on top of the table, but now that the basket is in the way it has become the new and improved spot to take a nice nap. If I were a cat that would surely be my favorite spot as well, nice pick! This is truly the life of a princess.

Day 57 - Stick it to the World

Lockdown Day 57 - I know that scripture says that we are to forgive those who do us harm but I am struggling in this regard. I say to myself I forgive him for being so selfish, thinking only of himself while throwing everyone overboard when the storm hit. He has shown that he is not a very nice person and has a very ugly heart. How Lord, how can I forgive when I feel so much hurt?

Princess here says that karma is a bitch while she pulls a tongue to this cruel world, but I don't believe in karma, I believe in the Lord Almighty, and He says I must forgive, turn the other cheek, I must forgive and move on. But help me, take me by the hand and lead me through this rocky road as I am struggling.

I am searching for answers, far and wide.

Day 55 - Warm Spot

Lockdown Day 55 - The warmest spot in the home in the morning is right here in the kitchen where of course you'll find the cats all lined up trying to get the best spot as you can see Shammy and Princess got there first.

Day 46 - Kissy Face

Lockdown Day 46 - Who's your daddy? Yip Princess loves her daddy even when he is plucking up his lips into a kissy face. Oh well love is in the eyes of the beholder, or something like that. I have know Princess since she was a tiny little kitten that we had rescued being dumped by those nasty people that we lived next door too a long time ago.

Day 32 - Busted Dr Hahnz Treat

Lockdown Day 32 - So the month rolls into the next. The cats don't mind as there is lots of tasty treats for them to snack on, especially in the mornings when mommy feeds the dogs. Why do the dogs get the bestest of fuds. I mean Dr Hahnz can not be right for those pesky dogs. It must be for us, the cats.

Princess Life

I normally feel jolly but today, well today has been one of those rare days where life just gets me down. And by down I really feel that I can't take it anymore. So here I sit, and thinks, and thinks, and thinks. Nothing! I just feel nothing.

Princess, one of our cats just decided to keep me company. She must know how I am feeling, and just wanted to be close to me.

Sink Princess

It was an extremely hot day and we had our office airconditioners on full ball but when I arrived home I found this. Princess, one of our cats, the most hairiest one that is was sitting in our kitchen sink, which is most likely the coolest part of the house. Shame poor kitty, now I am debuting if I should get all her fur trimmed but I am not sure the is the right thing to do. The jury is still out.

Grumpy Cat

I am back at work after some serious man flu. No I am not 100% but I am getting there. Although for me it has been a short week, it is now catch up on everything, work, news, and social. It has been a long time sorry folks but I am back.

While glancing through twitter, something caught my eye, Grumpy Cat Dies! Oh no not Tardar Sauce, not Grumpy Cat, nooooooo. Clicking through to the article, I saw that in the header image, the site had done some screenshots of tweets from Grumpy Cat fans from all over the world posting RIPs, one of the tweets jumped out at me. It was a tweet from someone I actually know, a Joburg Photowalker called Axel. Wow who would have thought that he was a fan of Grumpy Cat. This article went viral and of course Axel's tweet along with it.

When I arrived back later, I told Princess, shown above and she was not happy with the news too. Grumpy cat? Who was Grumpy cat? I hope you don't think that I am grumpy, do you?

Sad Kitty Cat

"What's going through that mind of yours, Princess?" I hope she is not reflecting off me, sad kitty cat.It hasn't been smooth sailing for me with the waves threatening to flood the small boat I'm in. Having faith in God, makes me sleep at night, but it has not been easy.

Cat in the Shoe

What is it with my smells? The cats love the smell of my armpits for some reason, it must be my pheromones. Getting my shoes off for my Sunday afternoon nap, I found that Princess went straight to bury her noise into my shoes. Surely my shoes don't smell?

Last Hurrah

It is the last day of the year 2018, a very hard year for me and most people that I know but it is finally over. Goodbye cruel year.

My cellphone is warm from all the happy New Year wishes that I have been receiving that little Princess lay on top of it to gleam off the heat while it has been rain continuously outside.

Hurry Up and Wait

This has turned out to be a lazy Saturday. Yip we had to hurry up and get all ready for Robynne second daughter who is due to be born today. We are on short notice for baby sitting duty and now we wait for that phone call or message.

And we wait...

I see the cat Princess has the right idea, sit in the sun and chillax.

My Little Princess

At the end of a typical day, I have the supper on the go, my feet up, and I am relaxing in front of the TV with the setting sun streaming through the blinds, and my little Princess has other ideas. Somehow I am the only human other than Matthew who she allows to be touch her and not just the gentle loving touch but we play rough yet she always comes back for more.

How Many Times?

At the end of yet another day, supper is on the go, a Bob Dylan documentary is playing on the telly, the cat Princess is snuggled up at my feet, and I am feeling batted, just blowing in the wind.

I start to wonder how many roads must a man walk down before you call him a man. I first heard this song sung by a fellow school boy actually called Bob, can't remember his surname, but he was in hostel with me. I didn't now the meaning at the time, but it sounded kindof cool for a snotty nosed school kid like me. In an interview Dylan answered the following about this song "There ain’t too much I can say about this song except that the answer is blowing in the wind. It ain’t in no book or movie or TV show or discussion group. Man, it’s in the wind - and it’s blowing in the wind. Too many of these hip people are telling me where the answer is but oh I won’t believe that. I still say it’s in the wind and just like a restless piece of paper it’s got to come down some. But the only trouble is that no one picks up the answer when it comes down so not too many people get to see and know and then it flies away. I still say that some of the biggest criminals are those that turn their heads away when they see wrong and know it’s wrong. I’m only 21 years old and I know that there’s been too many. You people over 21, you’re older and smarter."

Yes we are older and smarter but are we wiser? The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind, the answer is blowing in the wind.

I may not have all the answers, but I know that God is in control.

The Queen Pineapple, Rosy loves playing in boxes, and when one presented itself on the kitchen counter, it become a perfect opportunity to ambush other cats as they came closer to see what dad is cooking for supper.

Pool Inspector

Oh no, the swimming pool is slowly turning green. Last week Monday afternoon we had an awful hail storm and the next day when the swimming pool pump kicked in, we had water pouring off the roof. The turned on the bypass but that didn't stop the water reaching the roof but slowed it down a bit.

The insurance assessors came and said that the swimming pool's solar heaters on the roof has been damaged by the hail and needs to be replaced. That was a week ago and we are still waiting for the insurance to get back to us. In the meantime, our cat Princess, does not like what she sees during her garden inspections. What normally is sparkling blue water is going a greener shade of blue. How long will we have to wait until I can put the swimming pools pump back on?

Day After

With a full house the cats made themselves scarce and since Monday was too a public holiday it was recovery time. Yay!

The day after the all nighter party we crashed and so did the cats, only too happy to find peace and quiet in the home once again. Ahhhhh back to normal.
