Val and Ken

Ohhh, this was a lovely surprise. Fancy bumping into Val and Ken at BBC. Ken used to be the pastor here at BBC a few years back and is now shepherding a church down in Cape Town. So what’s this issue that Cape Town is the place to retire to? If it wasn’t for all that wind and rain, yes it would be ideal but as the bergies say the mountain will still be there tomorrow. Anyway it was great seeing Val and Ken again back up in Johannesburg even though it is for a visit.

Fair from Fair

I have known Ken, Val and Cia for well 18 months and in that short time became friends. Now that they are packing up their bags and counting down the days before heading back down to the stormy Cape. I don't know what they see in the Cape? Okay family but the mountain dude will still be there. Well Ken and Val, I am sure going to miss y'all. I have this feeling; call it intuition that I will see the Jacksons again even if I have to ride Sophia down to Cape Town just to see Cia feeding Ken a donut and getting my hug from Val. Now that is an idea, ride Sophia to Cape Town, uhmmm. Anyway I know that a farewell is necessary so that we can meet again be it far or near and to meet again is certain for those who are friends with donuts.

Tongue Knot

Sunday morning was a choice between Trash the dress photoshoot and BBC. I needed to refuel my soul so BBC easily won out. I am glad I went else I would have missed Ken's kongue in a tnot slip. It certainly brought a smile to my face. Later in the afternoon I took the dogs for a very long walk along the Little Jukskei River. By long I mean a one and a half hour walk up the river, then across into Parkview and back again. Our feet are sore, the dogs are fast asleep and I have my feet up.

The Jacksons

With Ross leaving for 18 months to study in the States, BBC needed a replacement. So in steps Cia, Val and Ken from Cape Town, seen here talking with Carol. I would like to extend a big welcome to Ken and his family as they help with the shepherding of BBC while Ross is away.

Cisco Ken

The summer is in full swing and after I did my rain dance this morning, a friend told me on google chat that there is a 60% chance of thunderstorms on Friday. Maybe the dance did work. We have to wait and see. Anyway back to today’s photograph, here we find Ken who came all the way from Cisco in the UK to help Metrorail on a project. At least he is enjoying the lovely summer weather.
