Without his hat

I went to the men's group at BBC this morning for a change as it was a beautiful summer's morning to ride the bike. At BBC, Nigel was there dressed ... well you can see for yourself. I suppose a hat makes a person. If Nigel had brought along a firemen's hat or even a Dutchman's hat it would fit right in place with his suspenders. But I must say that he needs them as it looks like he is losing weight.

Back to the Men's Ministry

This morning I woke up to a beautiful summers morning and decided that it would be a good time to go to the men's group that meet at seven on Saturdays. Maybe it was meant to be as when I was returning, I saw this man walking that I recognised. It was a friend that had immigrated to Australia about two years ago. He had come back to sell the South African part of his business. We ended up at the side of the road in Bryanston chatting away. Well today's photo is of some of the men that meet regularly at BBC, they are Keith and Dave in the front and Gary and Leon at the back.

Smile :-|

I need something to shed some light on my doldrums. I can't stay like this for long. It is not good for me. The day started off good with a meeting of the boys. Then it was back to a downer with Carol and I. Not to keep a good man down, the mood bounced back when we went to check out this second hand Vespa. The men in the today’s photo are from left to right Tom, Leon, Frans, Keith (hidden), Jerry, Ted (Father Ted to me) and Nigel.

The Gift of Friends

It is good to have true friends who stand by you when the rest run away. Some of my very good friends meet every Saturday and it was good to start the day with them. From left to right are Dave, Frank, Ted and Keith.

Tigga Wannabes

Yes the Saturday Men’s Group has bounced into the new year. Here are five good Christian men who come to the early Saturday get together. Notice the new fashion statement, stripes that would make any Tigga proud. My friends are from left to right Mike, Joe, Rob, Kevin and Gary.

Last meeting

Today is the men’s last meeting for this year. Here is Keith, Ted and Gary sharing a joke before we get started. Next week we will have a breakfast somewhere. I later took Maxy to the park for his weekly run and finished the day off slouched on the couch watching the Springboks kick England’s butt by a record margin.

Maurizo

Ah, I have not seen Maurizo for a long time. He has been away for a while. He joined us at BBC to have a Men’s Breakfast. It was good to sit down and chat with him over a scrumptious breakfast. Behind him to the left are Trevor, the back of John and Gary with his “What a Potjie” t-shirt. On the right, I am not sure who the person with his back to me is except for Jason on the far right.

Just a quiet Saturday

Saturday is a day to recover from the stresses of the week, Nah. I join the Men's Group at BBC this morning to get a good start with Merville shown here offering me some coffee. Doesn't he know that I am on a diet? Well now he knows. Matthew had hurt his finger yesterday and could not go rock climbing this morning so we just stayed at home and played Command and Conquer all day.

Father Ted

Spring is in the air with the expected last cold front on its way. I started the day admiring all the flowers on my way to the Men’s Ministry. Here is Ted from the men’s group with John in the background. Afterwards we dropped Matthew off at the Youth Mountaineering Club of South Africa practice climb and went off to the bank and Post Office. Later on in the day we watched the Springboks kick some Aussie butt and took Maxy to dog training.
