Princess In a Basket

You have heard of cat in a hat, but what about cat in a basket? This area is now designated as Princess's sleeping area. It used to be on top of the table, but now that the basket is in the way it has become the new and improved spot to take a nice nap. If I were a cat that would surely be my favorite spot as well, nice pick! This is truly the life of a princess.

Day 28 - Staying Warm

Lockdown Day 28 - Winter is coming is on our lips as CoVid-19 cabin fever is starting to set in with tensions raising to the surface quite quickly now. Managing to get out with my Vespa does help but I think Minky has the right idea, Vitamin D. Yip one of the best medicine against the Coronavirus is the Vitamin D which plays an important role in respiratory health. And the natural source of Vitamin D is getting some sun exposure. So that is where you'll find me, along with Minky lying in the weakening sun.

Day 9 - Dr John Campbell

Lockdown Day 9 - The weather is still miserable which helps staying indoors during lock down here in Johannesburg. Spent some time in the office with Paddy following me around being so happy that daddy's home all the time. He loves lock down. Here I am catching up what is happening in the new coronavirus world with Dr John Campbell.

Tiger at Play

I have the house to myself today. Lynda is babysitting, and the boys are all at work. Ahhh peace and quiet. "Tiger shut up! Go play outside! Can't you see your daddy is resting?"

Past Out

After an morning of month end shopping , I am just over it all and I want to be like out cat Paddy, just past out next to his daddy. Yeah that is where I want to be right now, past out safely at the feet of Jesus. With no worries to bother me, I just want to sleep safe and deeply as my cat Paddy is doing right now at my feet.

Walking in my Shoes

Not everyone will understand the journey that I have being on. That's fine, yet Paddy would love to be able to fit into my shoes, just to be able to make sense of what I've been through. To walk in my shoes, to understand, and to love is all he wants of me.

Sink Princess

It was an extremely hot day and we had our office airconditioners on full ball but when I arrived home I found this. Princess, one of our cats, the most hairiest one that is was sitting in our kitchen sink, which is most likely the coolest part of the house. Shame poor kitty, now I am debuting if I should get all her fur trimmed but I am not sure the is the right thing to do. The jury is still out.

Cat on Top

Ahhh it is a great feeling to have Wednesday as an public holiday, so much so that I would like all Wednesdays to be holidays. Now wouldn't that be awesome.

Now to cook some supper but some spider sense made me look up only to find Tiger, one of our cats, perched above the stove like a gargoyle. Uhmmm I am not sure that I like a cat hovering above me while I rustle up some grub.

Cold Cat

Well this is one cold cat, Tiger does not like the sudden cold snap that has hit us this weekend. Brrrrrr, here is Tiger trying to stay close in the warm lounge. Feet up with the gas heater on and a blanket will only do to get a cold cat into a hot cat.

Walking the Tiger

Taking the dogs out for a walk into the veldt, Tiger one of our cats always loves to join us in our walks. Although he simply ambles along and we have to stop often for him to catch up. It was kind of fun to have a cat walking with us and the dogs. Only River Song, had to always go and check if Tiger was okay, and after a few slaps of the paw, River Song moved on leaving Tiger to his leisurely stroll.

Sick Kitty

Keep still, Kitty, I know that you are not well. Just let the vets see to you and make it all better.

Poor Kittykie, she is one sick granny puddy tat. The symptoms are similar to cat asthma and she is battling to breathe with all that phlegm in her throat.

Freckles and Rhoda

Now I have known Rhoda since she was a wee lass, and look at her now, all grown, married with 2 children. The youngest Emma is the same age as Matthew. Rhoda’s brother Robbie who is my best friend, and I were invited over for supper with Rhoda, her husband Kevin, and Joshua, as Emma was away getting her hair died blue.

As usual it was misty and miserable outside, they say Hilton is always like this in summer, but I am now not so sure, as the mist is so thick, you can hardly see your hand in front of you. Anyways Rhoda was all prepared for the mist with a blanket and her cat Freckles. Kevin didn’t want to be in the photo as he is in one taken earlier in the week.

Pool Inspector

Oh no, the swimming pool is slowly turning green. Last week Monday afternoon we had an awful hail storm and the next day when the swimming pool pump kicked in, we had water pouring off the roof. The turned on the bypass but that didn't stop the water reaching the roof but slowed it down a bit.

The insurance assessors came and said that the swimming pool's solar heaters on the roof has been damaged by the hail and needs to be replaced. That was a week ago and we are still waiting for the insurance to get back to us. In the meantime, our cat Princess, does not like what she sees during her garden inspections. What normally is sparkling blue water is going a greener shade of blue. How long will we have to wait until I can put the swimming pools pump back on?

Sleepy Tiger

They say if you grab a tiger by its tail, never let go but this cat called Tiger for some unknown reason as he does not look like a tiger, and was just a sleep puddy tat today. The sun was struggling to warn the autumn day past 20 degrees Celsius today and Tiger found the perfect spot on the couch to get the most out of the sun.

We never spent a winter here in our home, with winter coming; I hope the designer features of our awesome home will keep it nice and warm just as it kept us lovely cool during the hot summer months. South Africa homes are notorious for being sweltering in summer and freezing in winter but this aren’t a normal South African designed home, so says Tiger and I.

Snip Snip

Oh no, daddy put me in this plastic box and we went on a drive along with granny cat, Kitty. He left both of us cats at the vets. I found out that Kitty is here to get her teeth done whereas no one wants to tell me what’s going on. The female vets just smile this sadistic smile and say that this won’t hurt at all. I woke up well and... how can I say this without crying... I woke up all drowsy and in pain down there where my tom cat parts used to be. MEOW meow!

Cat Stripes

Wow, this cat Paddington sure finds the strangest places to sleep. It is like he is on the go one minute and the next he has crashed right where he was. It looks like he needs his beauty sleep on top of the striped couch.

Found

Looked what walked back into our home, Minky, after 24 hours of somewhere out there in our front yard lost to the world. Poor little putty tat, she had us worried all night. After calling, searching, and fearing the worse, we had trouble sleeping.

It looks like Minky, the minks, also had little sleep as she is now pasted out on the couch next to my desk. She is following me everywhere, if I get up to the kitchen, she follows me making sure that she is never far from me. Poor thing it must have been a traumatic night out there in the gorge alone with all the creatures of the night.
