Oopsie

Last week we had an oopsie with Lynda's car as it saw the back of the garage a little too close and poor Lynda had to continue to drive it without an air conditioner that is until this morning as we dropped it off at Auto Magic in Strydompark to see if they can work some magic to restore it like new.

Road Works and Accidents

Rush hour has been not too shabby for me as I am traveling against the flow of the rat race traffic but add some road works, a sprinkling of rain with a dash mad hatter taxi drivers who don’t care for the lives of their paying customers nor for the lives of other road users, and you have stand still traffic.

Informal taxis are synonymous with traffic accidents, and this evening on the way home which normally is a half hour affair, turn out to be nearly an hour and a half which as you can imagine would stress anyone out. Okay, okay there are some of my readers who sit in rush hour traffic for over two hours one way daily. Now that would not keep me sane.

Red Vespa Down

When riding a motorcycle you have to always be alert of all possible outcomes ahead of time. All possibilities of what other road users can do have to be taken into account before they even think of doing it, that way you stay alive another day.

I found out yesterday that Craig while riding his Vespa along Malibongwe Drive was sandwiched between two trucks and was luckily to sustain no injuries other than this poor red Vespa GTS 250ie which was taken down. The damage is repairable but I am not sure Craig is in the position to do this right away. Poor thing.

Hold on to your cap

On the way to work this morning, there was a horrific road accident along my route on the N14 which lead to the Medevac helicopter to be called in.

Soon after reaching the front of the long traffic back up, the helicopter arrived with the downwash of the rotors causing debris to fly. The rather hefty traffic officer had to hold onto her cap as it was threatening to get blown off.

Horse and Trailer

Going to work today after the heavy rain in the early morning hours was a nightmare of a traffic jam. It took one and a half hours, double what it normally takes me. Hoping that going home this evening it would be better but a truck with a shipping container on flatbed trailer had to go overturn at the Allendale offramp. This affected the traffic from Woodmead northwards which I had to sit in. Not cool.

It was good to be back home and I got stuck in doing my homework that the animal behaviourist left for me to do during the week. Take each of my dogs separately and walk them on lead at the bottom of my garden. Poor Skye, he didn't enjoy it at all but he has to learn. Here have another treat.

Monday is now over and the week can officially start.
