Weekend Relaxation

Saturday has come around and everyone around the house is in the relaxing mood even the cats. Well to be fair the cats are always relaxing, but here is Tiger dozing off on his mother's lap. We are all catching up on rest for the upcoming week which is hopefully busy for us all.

Day 60 - Cold Snap

Lockdown Day 60 - Winter is here as the first cold front hits us. Brrrrrr it is sure cold as all the cats try pick the best warm spots to get warm, ask Tiger shown above sitting in the sun in our bedroom. As for me, I don't want to get out of bed, not until it warms up a wee bit more. Reports of snow is coming in from all over.

Tiger at Play

I have the house to myself today. Lynda is babysitting, and the boys are all at work. Ahhh peace and quiet. "Tiger shut up! Go play outside! Can't you see your daddy is resting?"

Warm and Snug

The cats know how to keep warm in cold wet days like today. Warm and snug, all huddled together in the living room while we too try keep warm on the couch in front of the TV. Ahhh these lazy weekends.

Coming home after a long day at work, ready for the weekend of bliss only to find my bed like this. What not even my bedroom is save from these cats? The 3 catprits clockwise is Minky, Tiger, and Princess. Give me back my weekend!

Just Watching

It's Friday, and I arrive home all pooped and crash onto the couch. I must have fallen asleep because I opened my eyes to find Tiger sitting in front of me watching, just watching.

What did I do wrong to deserve this unrelenting scrutiny. Why Tiger, why?

Cat on Top

Ahhh it is a great feeling to have Wednesday as an public holiday, so much so that I would like all Wednesdays to be holidays. Now wouldn't that be awesome.

Now to cook some supper but some spider sense made me look up only to find Tiger, one of our cats, perched above the stove like a gargoyle. Uhmmm I am not sure that I like a cat hovering above me while I rustle up some grub.

Tiger Wiger

This afternoon was a write-off with rolling blackouts scheduled from 12pm to 4:30pm. Thank goodness tomorrow is a public holiday, Human Rights Day to be exact. So here I sit at home, feet up with Tiger Wiger up close wanting his human contact while nothing gets done at work due to the loadshedding.

I kind of going to enjoy this mid week break.

Paddy Waddy

Ahhh Saturday afternoon naps with daddy is just what the doctor ordered. This morning I had to go get some chlorine for the pool because the gardener forgot to inform me the the chlorine is finished and this whole week the pool got greener and greener. So after picking up a tub of chlorine and extra chemicals to shock the pool, I did worked on the swimming pool.

Soon the pool was turning blue again, still cloudy from all the chemicals I put in but blue non the less. Being out in the sun after all the rain for the last few weeks was good for me, especially the topping up of some vitamin D.

It was late in the afternoon when I went for an afternoon nap to recharge my batteries. I woke up with Paddy keeping me company purring away and Tiger waiting for the bedroom door to open as he doesn't like going round. Ah Paddy Waddy just loves being in my company.

Red Tiger

Oh well, the good traffic did not last, back to normal rush hour traffic sitting in a cage while bikers wizz past. Finally I got home to a sick Lynda in bed and 2 hungry boys. Thankfully I was prepared, and threw into the oven a Woolies lasagne and put my feet up.

Next to my feet lay a Tiger on the red covered ottoman. The pheromones from my feet is just what a cat needs to sleep.

Cold Cat

Well this is one cold cat, Tiger does not like the sudden cold snap that has hit us this weekend. Brrrrrr, here is Tiger trying to stay close in the warm lounge. Feet up with the gas heater on and a blanket will only do to get a cold cat into a hot cat.

Walking the Tiger

Taking the dogs out for a walk into the veldt, Tiger one of our cats always loves to join us in our walks. Although he simply ambles along and we have to stop often for him to catch up. It was kind of fun to have a cat walking with us and the dogs. Only River Song, had to always go and check if Tiger was okay, and after a few slaps of the paw, River Song moved on leaving Tiger to his leisurely stroll.

Tiger Wiger

I am feeling much better today, as Lynda came home from the doctor bearing medicine for her plus a change of medicine strategy for me. Already I feel the difference. Nice.

Well by evening, I suddenly realised that my foggy head forgot the photo of the day. Luckily Tiger was lying on the ottoman in front of me, so Tiger Wiger became today's subject. Poor Tiger, this cat has really been through the wars, having rescued him after been half mangled by dogs. He has recovered well and has become an inside cat. I call him a Chinese cat because his eyes are very Chinese like. I think only once, when he got a fright did I see big round cat eyes him, normally they just thin slits, hardly open at all. But when there is food, he is the first one there.

No Way Jose

Back to normal after the long weekend. First things first, 2 cats Tiger and Bebe had dentist bookings first thing this morning and what a hell run it was. With meow meow there and everywhere a meow meow it drove me up the wall sitting in rush hour traffic on the way to the vet. Two hungry scared caged cats in a car don’t make for a peaceful trip, no way Jose.

Day After

With a full house the cats made themselves scarce and since Monday was too a public holiday it was recovery time. Yay!

The day after the all nighter party we crashed and so did the cats, only too happy to find peace and quiet in the home once again. Ahhhhh back to normal.

Lazy Afternoon

After yesterday’s long post, just for my friend Gary who only likes long posts and not my short ones, hey Gary how about a short one again? No! Well if you share yesterday’s post about the raw sewerage flowing into the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Gardens, then I promise after today’s post on our cat Tiger, having a lazy afternoon in the winter’s sun, I will do longer posts, I promise. Look no fingers crossed behind my back. See even Tiger agrees as he is tired of all this camera in your face when you are trying to have a cat nap.

Cold Cats

Forget about Hot Dogs, this morning a cold wind blew through and the dogs refused to leave their heated dog house and the cats, well the cold cats have to cuddle up where ever they find a warm spot.

Tiger under Blanket

Sometime overnight a cold front came over, lowering the temperature slightly with clouds leading the way. I left as soon as I could with Tiger, one of our cats deeply buried under the blankets. My 10 o’ clock was pushed out till 12 and my 16:30 was postponed so my day changed but the cloud cover stayed.

When I finally got home early afternoon, Tiger was still buried under the blankets. I had to make sure he was still breathing.

Tiger in Bush

It has been a busy long weekend and today the last day, it is relax at home, clean up and prepare for the coming work week.

And as Matthew informed me that I like to use the words "doing the rounds in my garden" on my blog, I found myself doing just that as we have a lovely garden with spectacular vistas so why not do my rounds. When I reached the bird feeders, I saw Tiger our cat, hiding below, watching the "Cat Feeders" as I like to call the bird feeders, with such interest. Just one move Tiger and the birds are gone.

Sleepy Tiger

They say if you grab a tiger by its tail, never let go but this cat called Tiger for some unknown reason as he does not look like a tiger, and was just a sleep puddy tat today. The sun was struggling to warn the autumn day past 20 degrees Celsius today and Tiger found the perfect spot on the couch to get the most out of the sun.

We never spent a winter here in our home, with winter coming; I hope the designer features of our awesome home will keep it nice and warm just as it kept us lovely cool during the hot summer months. South Africa homes are notorious for being sweltering in summer and freezing in winter but this aren’t a normal South African designed home, so says Tiger and I.
