Matthew and Justin are not just best friends but brothers as they proudly confess. They have been friends since pre-school and it was good for them to get together again for a sleep over. Cold as it might be nothing beats dad's hot chocolate.
While I started the long task of refurbishing my own website, Matthew had two friends over for a day of Halo. Here I am trying to distract Rudolf, Matthew and Justin for a photograph but only Justin fell for it. I better get back to work, you know what they say about a mechanic's car, well my website is dire need of a fresh lick of paint.
Today's Matthew's 12th birthday and we had an underwater scuba party for 10 kids. It was a splashing success with even Carol going to the bottom. Here is Justin and Matthew about to do their first pool dive.
My days are getting busier and busier that I am starting to look forward to the weekends. Today was no exception with the work from Shosholoza Meyl. Back home, I could wind down and finally get to take a photo for the day. Matthew has his friend, Justin staying over for a couple of days during the holidays.
Justin turned 12 this past week and invited a few friends to the Northgate Ice Arena for an afternoon of fun. Here is Justin giving a thumbs up just before he and few of his friends enter the ice rink.
Yesterday my right knee was so sore that I thought it was gout but it was nowhere near my toes. My right foot wouldn't warm up which let me to worry about circulation. Anyway it turned out to be an old injury from my horse riding days a long time ago that was now playing up due to the brutal cold. This morning my knee was fine except for a bit of tenderness that only a walk in the park with the dogs could fix. Matthew and Justin caught up on been separated for over a week and I battled to tear them off the computer for a few seconds for this photo.
I am home alone again this weekend as Carol, Matthew and Justin house sit Kenneth and Simone's home and pets. Carol forgot some books so I had to bring them over this morning. I found Justin and Matthew doing some biological research. They had fished out of the swimming pool a type of water beetle which they placed the specimen into a water bottle for further research. Here they are trying to set the specimen to be photographed. When they get back on Monday they will try identifying it from the internet.
With nothing much happening, I have been feeling down. While I slept most of the day, Matthew and Justin played computer games.
With the summer holidays drawing to an end Matthew and his friends are making the most of their time with sleepovers and playing nonstop PC, Xbox and Nintendo games. Here is Matthew with Justin during a bout of "Need for Speed".
With a few of Matthew's closest friends we got lost at the maze in Honeydew. Kasmeria, Justin, Matthew and Rudolf separated into two teams and wandered around the maze looking for clues and solving puzzles.
Matthew’s best friend Justin, here with Matthew, turned 11 today. This evening they joined the BBC youth group at the Northgate Ice Rink for some fun time on the ice.
We have just come back from the Brazil – South Africa soccer game and it is already after midnight. From the left is Justin, Louise, Lucky and Matthew. Wow South Africa played well with Brazil only managing to score from a penalty right at the end of the game. What South Africa needs is a striker or two. They were good in mid-field and defence but just could not put the ball where it counts. I’ve just heard the news on the radio of unconfirmed reports that Michael Jackson has died from a heart attack. I suppose if it is true it will be in the papers in the morning. Well let me get to bed as I have only four hours until I have to get up for work.
Today is still cold but the rain has cleared up and the sky typical of a Highveld winter. Justin and Matthew spent most day and evening playing Halo. Here they are in there pajamas still playing Halo. I am sure there is an age restriction somewhere on the box. Now where is that box? Here it is. Oh it is 16+ …. Matt and Justin are only 10 so I better not let Carol see the box.
