Low Level Bridge

With all the past heavy rains this year, the low level bridge near our home was washed away. Since then we had to travel the long way round when using a car which adds between half to a full hour in rush hour traffic. The bridge itself wasn't completely washed away as parts of it survived enough for walking traffic and of course the Vespa.

Last week contractors arrived and started repairing part of the bridge the survived, widening it enough to fit a small vehicle across or a taxi. The repairs was complete tonight and was soon opened to single vehicle traffic after this photo was taken with my cellphone and of course just after I became the first to ride over it with my Vespa.
