Silver Pheasant
Walking along one of the pathways at Mogale Business Park, this little creature ran across my path and I had to whip out my trusty point and shoot Canon S100. Now they say that the best camera is the one at hand, which I can now attest to.
I never saw this splendid creature before and had to use the old faithful interwebs to identify it to be a Silver Pheasant or Lophura Nycthemera. They are a related pheasant to the Siamese Fireback which I posted back in April, and both pheasants come from the mountains of Southeast Asia. It was the striking black body with a contrasting white back marked with black zigzag pattern that caught my eye. What a beautiful bird.
