Medicross Wait
What is with these doctors who don’t know how to manage time and expect their clients to wait for them when time costs money? No other profession is less caring now days as the medical. About 2 months back the staff at Health Worx in Randpark Ridge treated Lynda with such distain that I vowed that we will never go back there. And today I took Matthew to Medicross Rangeview as he needed a doctor. Let the waiting begin...
Wait, wait for just 1 doctor that is one duty. We booked an appointment for 3pm and arrived half an hour early to a nearly empty waiting room but yet we had to wait until 20 to 4 to finally see the doctor.

Mary Jane Possible
I am getting near the end of my tether with Maxy and the growth in his inner ear. I have tried nearly all the medicines available including the alternative ones which can’t be mentioned. I ear seems much cleaner but he is still in pain and I can’t keep giving him pain killers. He is still a happy chap, bouncing like a tigger except when he barks, howls, or eats, and then he cries out in pain.
Today the news is all in the rage over Zuma, our president not, plunging our country into financial chaos just to get his sheep into position to sign a nuclear deal with Russia which will allow his family to gain billions in the process. And then having dagga which is what marijuana is called here in your private home has been de-criminalised, maybe to null the effect of Zuma’s rape of our beloved country. Okay not quite legal yet but not being a criminal offense is on the right path to getting medical marijuana, oh Mary Jane.

Fight another Day
Excuse the pun, but already I am getting sick and tired of seeing these 4 walls of my bedroom and of top of that these vivid dreams that I am having is not helping my cause of not being booked into some padded cell.
Last night was practically bad when my brother phoned in the early hours of the morning after being pushed awake by something which woke up him screaming out my name. Weird but by telling me this after some dark dreams does not comfort me in any way.
Is it the medication or is it simply this virus which has being doing the rounds? Whatever it is, it must leave me well alone as I want to live to fight another day or as one of my grandparents used to say, another clean shirt will do me.

Quack Quack
I should have brought a jacket with me yesterday as it did get a bit nippy late in the afternoon and now I am having waves of fever. No more self medication for me, I had to go see a doctor but first I had some urgent work to do at work.
By lunchtime I had finished all that needed to be done at work and headed to the quacks and was diagnosed with Upper Respiratory Infection aka man flu. Thank God, it could have been worse with all the stress from Friday night. Well the doctor has ordered bed rest, so good night.

Virus Gone Airborne
Last week Philip and Sandra from down the passage fell prey to a flu virus. Yesterday afternoon I felt that I too was coming down with something and by evening I was out for the count with some cold or flu bug.
This morning I had either to drag myself to a doctor or to work. So being a man I decided the latter being the wisest course of action for now unless it gets worse. Arriving at work I found out the Ella too came down with something last night. Darn, it looks like this virus has gone airborne and is spreading. After a few hours at work I felt even worse so I dragged myself off to the pharmacy for some self-medication and bed.
So now I am over dosed on Grippon, Coryx, and Linctagon-C, all I need is sleep and my body’s immune system should be capable to take care of this nasty piece of work.

Zam-Buk, Winter is Coming
I know today is South Africa’s 5th National Elections and we are voting for change from the corruption but deep down in our hearts we know, that no matter how we vote, corruption will always win the day. Cynical? Maybe but the signs are here that winter is coming.
Our best bet to keep the winter out is Zam-Buk and signs are abound that winter is coming with warmer clothing in the stores to this bowl of 7 gram tins of Zam-buk from the cherry flavour to the real makoya.

Change of Seasons
Hopefully this is the last of the cold, that is until next winter. It should get much warmer from now until Christmas which is only 84 days away or 3 more pay days. Optimistically this change in seasons will also mean the end of colds, flu and hay fever. Shown above is the medical cocktail taken by a work colleague to combat her flu.

Gout Cocktail
I limped into the chemist this morning to get some relief from this awful pain. The pharmacist reached for this pre-prepared cocktail of pills labelled gout which he said will make me feel right as rain within 15 mins. Well it took an hour and my left ankle was feeling much better but by evening the gout was returning. I don't think I will be able to live on pills. I have cut out most common known gout causing foods and drinks already. What else, maybe the dairy products next.

Feet up
Since yesterday my left ankle has been playing up. I am not sure but I seem to have sprained it or at worse fractured it. Today it has swollen up quite nicely with not even an ankle visible. The pain is just bearable and I mean just. If it doesn't come right with a little love and care then I may need to get it x-rayed. Riding the Vespa is okay but not walking. Tomorrow I am using the car as I have to pick up Matthew, uhmmm not sure if I will be able to handle a clutch.
