What started as "so are you ever going to ask me round for coffee" ended up as a great day with Angela. We talked and talked and had coffee and talked some more. Then a coffee turned into a brunch with more talk. I found out a lot about the physiology of Big Brother as Angela is one of the directors of the show. Interesting thoughts came out of our discussions about how the mind works when faced in a Big Brother scenario.
Once again no electricity in our suburb for the whole day due to scheduled maintenance. What is Joburg coming to? Here are our good friends Gary and Angie with their daughter Braelyn just finishing their breakfast at BBC. This is only part of their one male and four females’ family. Today's photo is just for my friend Janis stuck in the UK. Last Sunday she asked for a photo of Carlie's face. But no matter how I tried Carlie only had her beautiful blue eyes wide open during the service so I could not get the shot I wanted. This raises the point; both Gary and Angie have brown eyes, so where do the beautiful blue eyes come from. I thought of genetic leap frogging but Gary's mom has green and the rest of the grand parents have brown. Ummmm Gary how about that DNA test as I am starting to suspect baby swopping. Anyway Carlie is the better baby if something like that did happen. Angie, well done on another beautiful baby girl and Gary it is about time to invest in that shotgun as you are the only guy in a family of four ladies. And Janis next time, blue eyes.
This was a status of a good friend of mine on Facebook today, who's your Daddy? I liked it so much that I had to use it in my title. Today is father's day, something I don't really enjoy because I didn't have a great time being a son. Anyway Matthew makes it all up for me as I try to be a good dad to him. I was spoiled by both Carol and Matthew on this Father's Day, thank you. It was also good to see friends this morning at BBC. I had a good chat with my American friend Clay about the soccer and I dig it that he loves rugby more. Anyway what is with all this acting by the European and South American soccer teams? Why should a person be penalized because of how good the opposite number can act? There should be some sort of TMO (Television Match Official)were this despicable diving is stamped out. If the person is injured like he is acting then he should be sent off the field to recover for 10mins, that should put a stop to diving. I now think soccer is for the boys and rugby for the men. Too much soccer is not good for me. Back to BBC. Here are two of my friends Angie and Pauline with baby Carlie at BBC this morning.
Isn't it amazing that Angie is up and about. Here she is introducing her beautiful daughter, Carlie, at 5 days old to Pauline and her daughter.
More great news is that Gary and Angie are proud to announce the birth of their daughter Carlie. She was born on the 2 June 2010, a year and a half since Braelyn. (See my post Welcome to the world). They now have three daughters. Gary I hope that you have put that down payment on a shotgun, bro.
The clouds have started to lift which means game drives. Jerome our driver and tracker did a wonderful job of catching up on the lost time yesterday. We saw Blue Wildebeest, Impala, Gemsbok, Giraffe, Kudu, Mountain Reedbuck, Ostrich, Red Hartebeest, Warthog, Waterbuck, White Rhino, and Zebra. Many babies were seen which means that it has been a bumper wet season. In today's photo we have Jerome, Carol, Hayley, Matthew, Angie, Gary and Braelyn. We ended the day under the stars in the boma around the campfire having a wonderful bushveld braai.
A little birdie told me that Jan is looking for a newer photo of Angie, Braelyn and Gary. So Jan here it is, enjoy.
Wow Angie, your daughter Braelyn is growing fast. Soon she will be walking and before you know it running. It was good to see you three again. We must get together some time.
Thanks to all my friends and family who wished me happy birthday today. Thank You. Matthew gave me a beautiful pair of leather gloves for Sophia, my Vespa and I got a lovely small camera from Carol to carry around for my everyday photos for my blog. No more lugging a big old camera around. Thanks to my new Canon Power Shot A480 which is small enough to fit into my pocket but is an awesome 10 mega pixels. So the first photo posted from the Canon is one of Lu-Marie and Angie catching up after a BBC service. Angie swears that her hat is a fake leopard.
Today I can put my feet up and chill. Here is Angie with Braelyn at BBC bringing a smile to my face.
Matthew was looking forward to go with Sophia to BBC and could not wait to show her off to his friends especially his new hornet helmet. Here is Sophia sharing a joke with Pauline holding Braelyn, Saskia and Angie.
Angie is glowing when she is holding her precious Braelyn. The glowing reminds me of Yvaine, a fallen star who glows when she is close to Tristan as stars normally glow when they happy (See the movie Stardust to find out more). It was good to see Gary, Angie and little Braelyn for the first time this year.
The big news is that Gary and Angela are proud to announce the arrival of their daughter Braelyn. She was born yesterday morning and we managed to visited them only this afternoon. Braelyn is cute as all babies are and Gary needs to get himself a shotgun.
With just over a month to go, Angie needs to sit down. Gary is always doting at her side. With my diet doing well, I must say the Angie is now officially bigger than me.
It is good to have coffee and catch up with friends after church. Here is Lu-Marie, Angie, ? and Gary.
Here is Angi putting on her best face. We were just about to lunch together with the Impendulo outreach team when the photo was taken. No is wasn't that bad, in fact it was quite interesting listening to them talk about their experiences in KwaZulu-Natal. I must say Richard and his team are doing a wonder job down there.
Mother’s day with me far away from Carol and Matthew started quietly. Later I met up with some friends and even later I took Maxy for a walk in the park again. This time he was a little naughty and would only selectively hear me. Here is Angie and Gary who hopefully will be parents soon; well I hope so.
