I can Only Imagine

With so many people around me, going on to be with the Lord, it is a little worrying of what God has set in motion. Is it well with my soul?

Frank, the guy in the middle invited a group of men to watch the movie "I can only imagine" with him. Okay it is his 3rd time he saw the movie and it has just been released on the the circuit. In the photo is Clint, Stephan, me, Frank, Maurizio, and Morné. Okay Tim who is missing was taking the photo. Someone at the table quoted "Show me your friends and I will prophesy your future". This is a great bunch of men.

So back to the movie of Bart Millard and MercyMe, and of how the song "I can only Imagine came into being, not in 10 minutes it took to write it down but a lifetime of hurt and sorry. The words that Bart's dad said to him "Dreams don't pay the bills. Nothing good comes from them. All it does is keeping you from knowing what is real." Hit real hard as I remember Carol once said to me that I taught her to dream and look what all that dreaming became, bitterness and sorrow. If God can change Bart's dad from bitterness of his destroyed dreams, then what can God do for me. 

Yes in my wildest dreams I cannot imagine what I will do once I too stand before the throne. "Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel? Will I dance for you Jesus or in awe of You be still? Will I stand in your presence or to my knees will I fall? Will I sing hallelujah? Will I be able to speak at all? I can only imagine."

Come and see what God has done.

With still a few items to buy on our Christmas list, we took a break from the Christmas rush to bring it back to what Christmas is all about, the amazing story of love and grace that brought hope back into the world. This hope was reminded to us as the Soweto Gospel Choir led us at BBC in a time of reflection and hope.

Afterwards we went to Montecasino for a small family supper in the courtyard while children played in the fountains. Although there was the busyness of all the traditional Christmas decorations everywhere we looked, God was far from many here at Monte as we huddled in our little family group. Matthew and I witnessed a couple in full drunken altercation in the parking lot with security guards tearing them apart. Where was the hope that God promised, the peace that we sang about a few hours earlier.

This evening a group of Resistance players met at Montecasino in Fourways for a Ingress Social and what Ingress players do a lot, hacking.

Standing at the back are InsaneSplash, thr4sh3r, MaxyJade, and Meekk. Around the table starting at the front and going clockwise are BioniKat, GuardianAlpha, RiggerMortiz, NymphMel, Gazzadbn, and our Ingress visitor from France Srr91919.

We are all L8 and upwards Resistance fighters well except for our French Resistance member who is a L6 soon to be L8. With all this muscle, this meant we quickly had a L8 popup farm and we milked it dry. Comments did the rounds that this was the most successful popup farm in a long time. Well done for the organisers.

Goddess Night

Tonight was Date Night, and a dinner and movie was a perfect break in this rather busy week. Goddess, the Australian musical was showing at Montecasnio so Lynda and I rushed over for our Date Night.

We enjoyed our dinner followed by a freshly quirky musical which left me wanting to bounce into dance and leave the Tuscan styled alleys alive with music, well I don’t think my moves count as dancing nor can I hold a tune.
