Winter Monday
I left home before the sun peeped over the valley and arrived back way after dark. Okay I don’t mind the cold part of winter but this not seeing the sun I have a problem with especially on a Monday. Bad start to the week. Well at least Kitty doesn’t change. She just sits and thinks.

Feed Me
Coming home after a long but good productive day, I found the pets all waiting for their supper. First I put the bike away, then I put the oven on if I need to pre-heat it. Here is Kitty one of our cats telling me to hurry up and feed her.
So my home coming chores start outside, I feed dogs, check if they are all well and put their jerseys on. Then I call for Minky while staring to take the washing off the line, if there is any. Only then does the cats get fed, starting with the inside ones, then the outside ones, and finishing off with feeding the fish.
Now if I don’t have to make supper or to prepare any vegetables, I get to put my feet up at this point. Oh that is only after Kitty here is happy and full. Meouw!

Three Little Kittens
Three little kittens, they are lost without a home and they began to cry mee-ow, mee-ow, mee-ow. Oh, dear, a home was found for Kitty, and Princess is going to make our 11 a 12 while their sister Shadow now has to go to a rescue. Here is Noma holding Kitty and Shadow while tiny Princess holds onto her shoulder all tight hoping to be taken to a forever home.
One little kitten, lost without a home and she begin to cry mee-ow.
Please Note: These kittens are not ours, they are rescues and although we can’t keep them, we did managed to keep the smallest one, Princess. Although they still very small we managed to find a home for Kitty while I sadly took Shadow to Friends of Rescued Animals aka FORA. They are very full and also don't have room for another cat but they are a safe haven for dogs and cats and would never turn Shadow away.
FORA's mission is to shelter unwanted, abandoned and ill treated dogs and cats, emphasising on a quality pain free life. The animals are temporarily housed at FORA in Krugersdorp, North West of Johannesburg while the good people there endeavour to find them a new permanent home.
While there at FORA, I sadly notice many greyhounds. These greyhounds were rescued out of a life of hunting and been chained up in shanty towns when not hunting.

Day 2800 Yin Yang
Today 31 August 2014 is my 2800 post since I started way back on the 1 January 2007. Wow that is over 7 years of posting 1 photograph per day, only another 200 posts then it would be 3000 posts. It has been an up and down if not a turbulent 7 years for me. Yin and Yang, good and bad, it has all been for the building up of me. Am I stronger after these 7 years? Maybe but I know I am wiser and sadly I have become harder to those around me. Light can’t be without shadow. I have been in the light trying to help those in the dark by putting my arm back into the dark and feeling around blindly for another hand, grabbing on and then pulling them into the light. But it has been rough seven on me and I have the scars to prove it.
We are products of our past but we don’t have to be prisoners of it. Yes I am disillusioned with life as it has been tough but it is what you make of it that counts. So today being the last day of winter let me look forward and take my first step boldly into the future.
Here are Kitty and Lovely, mother and daughter cats trying to keep warm on the last day of winter. Lying in a yin and yang cuddle for warmth. As cats they know it is cold and harsh out there. Tomorrow the sun will shine and spring will begin, for now let’s get some rest.

Pumpkin Patch
This evening, trying the find the Butternut to cook became a problem when Lovely decided to sleep alongside the Butternut. After a full day's work, the days have simply become a flat out then put your feet up at the end of it days.
With the light fading fast after work, spending time with the animals have become a priority, well that is with the relaxing part included.

Peek A Poo
Monday, a start of a busy week of Google +, Places and switchboard operators. Ah the joys of my job. It has been fifteen days since my cellphone was sent to Cell C for repairs and the maybe, just maybe it will be returned to me soon. And that is the thought that keeps me going on, oh and the thought of coming home to my family at the end of the day. Here is Kitty, still weary of me and the pack of bouncy Italian Greyhounds and a Whippet.

Avocado Cats
When it comes to toys for children and pets it is the least likely that become their favourite things. Take cardboard boxes, how much fun do children have out of boxes that their expensive presents came in. It is the same with my dogs and cats. There are two cardboard crates that the amazing avocadoes came in sitting on the kitchen counter and the cats joust for the best positions. Here are Lovely, Red, Kitty and Shadow all waiting for any snacks that may come from the making of lunch.

Fleabags
Coming home to animals can be a trial especially when some of them are flea ridden cats. Oh that is the lover dogs in me talking. Here are Lovely, Kitty and Little Boy enjoying their supper while keeping a wary eye out for the dogs. Not to worry, my Whippet Skye won't be doing much chasing of flea infested felines as he is limping and I can't find the reason why. He must have sprained himself with all his running and jumping after the fleabags.
This post is bringing back memories of my good friend Robbie. He used to pipe "May the fleas of a thousand camels infest your armpits." Now I am getting itchy in places just thinking about it.

Getting Along
The pets are slowly getting used to each and dibbing their favourite places. Here is Skye sandwiched between Kitty and Lovely. Getting along is the key for success. I should take my cue from my pets when airing my dealings with Vespa South Africa. The service manager phoned me this afternoon after reading my blog and wanted to know why I was disappointed. Although I felt that he already knew, I told him why but I am not sure anything will come out of it. Anyway I should apologise because I suppose I should have voice my disappointment when I picked up my bike. By the way I think I did, but their answer did not satisfy and left Vespa South Africa very disillusioned.
