Mixed Christmas

Christmas Day we all gathered at Robynne and Marco’s home for a Christmas lunch of mixed traditions. The normal Christmas foods that we are used to plus traditional South African braai, Madeiran Espetadas, and Durban Indian curried prawns. Ahhh these mixed families gatherings like to spice things up.

Merry Christmas everyone

Jerome with Mohammed

It has been a long time since I saw Jim and Estelle from DDS, and Mohammed who is better known simply as Mo. This afternoon I was invited by DDS to the launch of the new CorelDraw X7 product and Mo was one of the guest speakers. I first met Jim and his then partner Ivan during the Macromedia days of user groups. Mo who used to be with Adobe back in the days also frequented the Macromedia User group as a guest speaker.

After a great lunch and catching up with Jim and Estelle at The Forum, we proceeded to watch the launch presentation of CorelDraw with a laryngitis sounding Mo giving the dive into all the new features.

Maybe I should where a hat with all that spotlight glare off my dome.

Mashooda and Mo

Mashooda, Richard’s daughter came round to the office today sporting a rather large tummy and her husband Mo in tow. It looks like Mashooda is expecting any day now, but being a man I never asked when but I chatted to Mo for a while. I find this photo interesting with its horizontal, vertical and diagonal stripes while Mo looks bored but like a dutiful hubby is close at hand. Any day now.

Mo and I

Today started slowly. I didn't get any reminders that I was on duty at BBC but somehow thought I was. So after double checking, I found that it is still a month to go till I’m next on duty. Well on Matthew’s birthday, now that won't do.

I day was starting to look like a wonderful summer's day, blue skies and not too hot. So I rounded up the dogs and off we went to Emmarentia Dam for a long walk. On this walk I bumped into some friends Mo and his wife Rihanna from long past. Here is a photo of Mo and I with Patch and Skye looking on. We walked for a while together catching up on things while my dogs and theirs ran together for a while.

When I finally got back home Matthew was still fast asleep after another late night with dad so on went the music and the washing machine.
