Back to PRASA

Going back to Metrorail, Park Station, and PRASA was like going down memory lane. I had arranged a meeting with Leon, my old team-mate from MIS, and also to make contact with N from PRASA Cres who along with me are the only two people who know the location of the secret passage joining the Blue Room and the platforms of Park Station.

This passage was sealed up in the late 1950s and remained a time vault since then. I last took a small group of the Joburg Photowalkers down there in 2010 and now another small group of the Photowalkers wants to go down, hence my visit back to PRASA.

Arriving at Umjantsi House, I bumped into more old colleagues from my PRASA ICT days, here is Helen and Thoko.

The visit

Thoko, shown above, came to visit us at Metrorail this afternoon. She has been busy with an ERP project at PRASA for most of the year now and is due to return to our MIS section sometime next year.

The Look

If looks could spit, I will be surfing. Thoko does not like her photo taken and always puts her hand in the way whenever she sees my camera. I want to have at least one photo of everyone that I work with in Metrorail this year. Thoko works in the same division as me in the ICT department. This was a surprise photo before she could put her hand up.

Daniel in Thoko’s Den

Arriving at Metrorail this morning, I found some staff members protesting at the gate for some reason. I heard that they wanted a station master to be re-called. What’s this re-calling nonsense that started when the ANC re-called the president of the country? Why don’t they just call a spade a spade? Re-calling is just a stupid way of saying “You’re Fired!” Today’s photo is of Daniel from the Finance Department meeting with Thoko.

Avo on bread

Someone brought some avocado pears and bread this morning to Metrorail. The avocado was smashed up and smeared thickly on the slices of white bread. It was soon wolfed down by all who were close. Here is Thandekile and Thoko taken their turn and getting stuck in.

Snow White's step mother

Mirror, mirror upon the wall, Who is the fairest fair of all? Look into your mirror, Thoko and tell me what you see. Is it really you or someone you cannot be?

Back to the rush

Back in busy Johannesburg with all its hustle and bustle. Well that is city life for you. I have a lot to do before we fly out to Europe. Visa’s still are outstanding for Carol and Matthew. Here is Thoko from Metrorail looking busy.
