Meet the Risk Dept

The last day till Christmas saw me in the office for the last time this year. Most of the staff were on leave so the few of us had fun. Here are Lee and Sibongile from the Risk Department.

No Power

From about eleven o'clock we had no power at work. Well a whole city block was with out power until after three in the afternoon. A very productive day it was, not. Other than putting my feet up relaxing, I went about taking a few portraits. Here is Sibongile from Risk Department.

Sibongile

With time running out until Christmas, I realized so was my contract. This along with my other home issues put a damper on my mood. Although many promises were made by various decision makers, pen still has to be put to paper. Talking about putting to paper, after my conversation with Magda, I thought that it might be a good idea to write a book about my life to date. Not an autobiography but maybe a frictional book based on my life or part thereof. Not that my life was more interesting than others but someone out there might like reading it. While the dark clouds hang over my head, it is always good to see Sibongile smile even under stress.

Paul Roux Toe

Long weekend is here so is Heritage Day at Metrorail with large numbers of employees all dressed in their tradition clothes. But most important is that I am on my way down to a little Free State village of Paul Roux.

Prepare 2010

In preparing for the upcoming FIFA World Cup, Metrorail has decided to do a clean-up campaign between Park Station and Doornfontein tomorrow. Here is Sibongile organising the logistics of the clean-up. With the rain set-in till Friday I wonder if it will still happen.

NOSA Ahead

It is just two more working days until the NOSA audit (counting today) and Sibongile along with her colleagues from the Risk Department is running around making sure all the "T"s are crossed and the "I"s dotted before then.

Walk the line

Things are supposed to be speeding up towards the FIFA 2010 but it seems that Metrorail has budget on its mind and it doesn't look good. We are walking a fine line into the future. Sibongile from the Risk Department was very busy last week with NOSA audits but now she has a little bit more time on her hands to chat.

Keep out my Swamp

I don’t actually know where I am at. I am feeling down yet at the same time lost. Today at Metrorail I am kept busy so busy that I didn’t have time to think yet the old trade unionist song keeps playing in my head. “My father was a garden boy, that is why I am a communist”. No don’t get me wrong I am no communist, the song is just catchy. The work and the ditty kept my mind off all my issues. It must have been cold outside because Sibongile came in all dressed for winter and a warm smile but that still did not distract my mind from the deep quagmire I find myself in.

Risky Business

With lots of things coming to a head here at Metrorail things are getting quite hectic. This is the second visit from the Risk Department to our floor in just as many days. This time it is Sibongile popping in without her laptop just for a visit.

Work Overload

Yesterday work was poured onto my desk at Metrorail, so much so that this morning I just sat there and wondered what now. All of the work is due next week except three which they wanted NOW. Done the three on time but the rest will have to wait until next week. Here is Lee and Sibongile from the Risk Department which gave me two of next week’s problems.

Petunia’s market

Spring is fighting back with the weather getting warmer. I had to do some work with Petunia in her office but it was like a market place with all the associated noises. Here is Sibongile visiting Petunia’s office along with me and many others.
