Man Flu Phil

Now we all know that man flu is not to be taken lightly especially just before the start of a long weekend. And Philip has now come down with this dreaded illness, oh dear, and as you can see he is not doing so well.

Talking about not taking it so well, I am desperately trying to tread water to get back onto solid ground but circumstances keep pushing my head under the surface over and over again. Man flu doesn’t sound so bad in light that my dogs have cost me over R15k and now yesterday one of the cats decided that it was in his best interest to spray the TV and DSTV units thereby taking out R10k of equipment. Sigh, gulp there goes my head back under water, bubble, bubble.

As I swallow water, I remember that my circumstances do not make or shape me but revel who I am, and I am not doing well in light of my current circumstances. I know I am not but I know I AM!

3000th Post

Here are my team mates at eKayaMedia gathered together to wish me all the best on my 3000th post. In the front row, left to right is myself Jerome, Kabelo, Noma, Paballo, Sandra, Calvin, Des, and Ernest. At back is Johan, Ilana, Mpho, Ella, Xolani, Mkuseli, Philip, Bridget, Lawrence, Wayne, Viandre, and Jacques. Below are the three special children Rob, Velile, and Gillis, who couldn't make the group photo. Thank you everyone who participated in this 3000th blog post.

Wow to reach 3000 posts on this blog has been something of a ride. What do you expect with all ups and downs of over eight years of a blog post per day till now? It’s nostalgic looking back through all my posts. Some bring a smile to my face, and some make my eyes all teary, but such are these 2999 memories woven into the fabric of what I call a sorry excuse of my life. And now I have one more which takes it up to 3000.

Every one of these 3000 moments are precious to me even the broken pieces when my days were dark as the light, the joy of life just overwhelms everything else. Someone once said that a photograph can be an instant of life captured for eternity that will never cease looking back at you.

Please feel free to browse through all my life posts, right back to the start in January 2007. Yes one day I’ll look back on all this and smile because it was life and I decided to live it.

Welcome Continues

And the welcomes back continues from yesterday. Here are finger licking Philip and cross armed Rob visiting Ella, on her second day back in the office. She has only been away for just over a week and this is the welcome that she continues to receive.

Oh well this too shall pass and I better start looking for other subjects to use in my blog. And not to forget that on Thursday I need to come up with an awesome blog post for it will be my 3000 post. Not to put me under any pressure but any ideas?

Big Bad Phil

Big Phil
Big Phil

Every morning at the Bosasa you could see him arrive
He stood over two metres tall and weighed a hundred plus
Kind of broad at the shoulder and narrow at the hip
And everybody knew, you didn't give no lip to Big Phil

Especially on his birthday

Big Phil, Big Phil
Big Bad Phil
Big Phil
Happy birthday Philip
(Note: The above to be sung to the tune of Big Bad John by Jimmy Dean, 1961)

Phillip’s New Hair

After I took yesterday off to move all the heavy stuff from our old home to the new, I arrive at work to find Phillip sporting a new look. Gone are the middle and side parties, here is Philip, one of our Brand Co-ordinators, wearing his new short, back and sides, hair style along with a smile. Well that’s how we roll here at eKayaMedia, the Marketing and Branding arm of the Bosasa Group.

Tall Phillip

Along with Noma, a giant of a man started yesterday, Phillip he who stands head and shoulders above all. It was kind of hard not to miss him really, as he joins Wayne as a Brand Co-ordinator in the print section of eKayaMedia, the brand and marketing arm of Bosasa.

We at the New Media side of the office wish Phillip all the best as joins the super heroes’ team and excuse the pun, as he soars to new heights in his career.

The Neighbourhood Boys

Bed, Bed, Bed, I am tied of this bed. Every time a cough or laugh my bruised lungs ache. Matthew had friends over which kept him out of the house. Here is the neighbourhood boys, Philip, David, Tino, Brian, Matthew and Maxy, the Italian Greyhound.
