Joseph and Elaine

At BBC, Elaine saw us and proudly rushed over carrying her little bundle of joy Joseph. Wow the last time we saw Elaine, she announced to us that she just found out that she is pregnant. Look at her now, all gleaming with a 3 month young Joseph in her arms.

Well Joseph is the first Joseph featured in my blog. May he be blessed to be a blessing to you Elaine, and all those around him.

Elaine at BBC

Wow, what happen to this weekend? Soon I have to take Matthew back east, soon I have to find that missing cat, Bibi. But for now time to reflect on God. Oh hello, Elaine, we made quite a few new friends at Alpha and being an usher at BBC I bet to see most of them regularly.

Alpha at Heronbridge

With the sun blazing down on the soggy Johannesburg, we are hoping for everything to dry out before the next wave arrives. After hanging up the washing in the rare sun, we headed out to Heronbridge to a morning of Alpha. Along with me, Group 5 consisted of Lynda, Gwen, Eric, Bob, and Elaine. Sadly Francis and Kim could not make it.

Elaine and Eddie

Today been Women's Day I decided to do one of Carol's favourite things, a drive in the country. So we started our country trip with a visit to Carol's aunt and uncle, Elaine and Eddie who stay just outside Magaliesburg. From there we headed down the Moot Valley and stopped for a late lunch at Tan Malie, Hartebeespoort. By now it was getting late so we made the dash back home before it got dark.

The Smit's 50th Wedding Anniversary

Off we went to the Magaliesburg Country Hotel to celebrate with Eddie and Elaine on their 50th wedding anniversary. We had a lovely time catching up with cousins and meeting family from Eddie's side for the first time. Today's photo is of is Eddie and Elaine with their three sons, daughter and two granddaughters. Ruth disappeared when I took this photo. So from left to right is Russell, Lara with her two daughters Danny and Amy, Eddie, Elaine, Darryl and Stephen.

Then there were 5

Today the family gathered not for Daphne's 79th birthday but for laying her to rest. It was a lovely service in memory of Daphne Jardine. The rain stayed away but it was awfully hot. As usual it is one of the few times when all the family get together. Daphne was one of 8 children of the May family, 2 boys and 6 beautiful girls. Now there are only 5 girls left. They are from the left Winnie, Muriel, Enid, Irene and Elaine.
