Day 69 - Bird of Paradise

Lockdown Day 69 - Level 3 Day 3 - I need to get this garden in the front all cleaned up. Here are some of the Strelitzia flowers in full bloom in our garden. The are better known as the Bird of Paradise flower as you can clearly see. One of the people who came to view our garden cottage has signed the lease and is moving in at the end of the month. They are a young couple getting their first home together away from there parents.

This is a new start for everyone as I am out looking for new opportunities to move forward.

Hurry up and Wait

Rushing home after work and then waiting for 2 groups of people to come view our cottage, hurry up and wait. The wait gave me time to admire our front garden which has become wild. Walking around I take mental notes of what to do in the garden. oh so much work and not sure when I am going to get to it all. Oh well the single strelitzia flower still gives me reason to smile.

Strelitzias and Strawberries

It was a beautiful spring morning, when I stepped out of my garage while preparing to mount my Vespa and slice through the rush hour traffic towards work. Then it caught my eye, a brightly coloured strelitzia, in my garden. Not just one but a number of them all flowering orange and purple.

And now this, Monique arrived at Connect group still eating her lunch of fresh fruit. And she pulled this super large strawberry out of her supper box of fruit.

Bird of Paradise

I don't often go into the front garden, but today we had a couple that came over to view our cottage. I did a inspection of the front garden, to make sure that all was in order, and that is when I saw this beautiful Strelitzia in full bloom in the garden. This flower of the strelitzia plant is also called the Bird of Paridise flower as you can see, they are magnificent.

Baby Strelitzia

Hey before I continue, I need to let you know, tomorrow, yes tomorrow is Friday. Just in case you were like me, losing track of all these days in this long week. Anyway I wasn't sure what photograph to take today and I was taking photos of reflections of myself, Noma's hand and even nearly started a foot fetish with a few photographs of Delia's naked feet. I am opening bids for anyone wishing to add to their collection of naked feet.

Luckily Delia saved the day, by bringing me the subject you see above in the photo, a baby strelitzia. What? Yes seeds from the beautiful flowering Strelitzias, even their seeds are awesome.

Friday to Clarens

Mohammed, Miguel and I headed down to a little town of Bethlehem somewhere in the eastern Free State for the Photographer's Festival. We arrived at our cottage in Clarens late in the evening and while the other two went over their talks I hit the sack. For my non South African viewers I will leave you with a beautiful example of the Strelitzia flower which I took in the Mourning Star's garden before departing to Clarens. Although this is a wild flower of our beautiful country it is also the official flower of the city of angles, Los Angeles.
