Spotted Eagle Owl

Waiting to greet us as the Home Circle arrived at Sandy and Andy's home in Bryanston was this juvenile Spotted Eagle Owl who has only recently moved into the area. There must be plenty of food in the area. The owl is still too small to hunt cats and little dogs but rats and pet rabbits must be plentiful. Well the local Grey Louries were not too thrilled and they sure voice their opinions and for all their rantings the owl just swivelled it's head and gave them an annoyed once over.

It was a pleasure watching this young owl only metres away from us while he watched us watching him as dusk turned to evening.
